Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on 14 different times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to overcome their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable triumph in the match featuring the French league champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net early on.

However, the southern French side fired two times late to seize a shock advantage. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the dying moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing shootout victory.

The record winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the past thirteen seasons.
